THE UPLAND TRIO (Christopher Bade, clarinet; Josh Aerie, cello; Greg Kostraba, piano) explores new music as well as pieces from the standard repertoire. They wish to expand accessibility, enjoyment, and knowledge of music, especially with works by living composers. They engage audiences with from-the-stage discussion of their program, offer masterclasses and educational programming, and actively collaborate with composers and other musicians.

Clarinetist CHRISTOPHER BADE is Professor of Music at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana where he conducts the TU Symphony Orchestra and TU Wind Ensemble, teaches Clarinet and Saxophone and Music History courses. He has given concerts in Hungary, Ireland and throughout the Midwest. Chris plays Utility Clarinet in Orchestra Indiana, and is also active as a conductor, clinician, adjudicator and speaker.

Cellist JOSH AERIE is a symphonic conductor, music educator, and arts advocate. He has performed throughout the US and abroad as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. Josh is Director of the annual Woodland Chamber Music Workshop, and Executive Director of The Music Village, a musical arts center and school in South Bend, Indiana.

Pianist GREG KOSTRABA is the afternoon classical music host on 89.5 KBACH in Phoenix, Arizona. A semifinalist at the Fourth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, he has performed throughout the Midwest and been featured multiple times on Performance Today. Greg holds masters and doctoral degrees in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
